Lawyers do not know how the courts operate

The current saga being brought before the courts has now become a mockery to law practitioners around the country.

Senior law experts in Vanuatu say the issue has gotten out of hand and it seems a lot of our lawyers do not know how the courts operate.

Prime example is the current stay application on the sentencing for three MP’s.

Justice Mary Sey says she has never come across an application to stay a sentence before it has been handed down, and ordered the MPs to appear for sentencing at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning.

Questions though are asked as to whether our lawyers know how the courts operate
