Captain of Malampa Revivors FC John Alick kneel down and pray to God after referee blow the final whistle when his team beat Ifira Black Bird FC 2-1 in the semifinal of the TVL National Super League on Wednesday.
He didn’t run to crowds to celebrate the victory with his team-mates but just humbly kneel down before God to give thanks.
“Today is a big day for me and our club in Luganville and I want to give God all the glory.” Said John Alick, Malampa FC captain.
“I don’t know what to say but thank God for giving us strength to play well even though we are one man down against a strong Ifira side.”
“I reminded our players of our prayers and finally we made it to the final of the competition.”
“I know the final will not be easy because Amicale is a great club with international players and we have to play good football against them on Saturday.”
“Whatever the result on Saturday, we will always give thanks to our Good Lord.” He said.
Most of the players who play for Malampa Revivors join Youth Fellowship of Presbyterian Church in Luganville, Santo.
