The official launching of the all new FEIAWA PARK (Seafront) is happening today starting from 12pm to 4:30pm in the afternoon.
The events will begin with a march led by the VMF Band outside Fung Kuei Area up to the Seafront Stage. At 1:30pm refreshments will be provided to VIP and Guest at the Seafront Stage with entertainment from local female string band performers.
The program also includes Paramount Chief Kalsakau III naming and unveiling the park.
The DPM will also perform a custom ceremony as a token of appreciation to the Chief of ifira island and also to the people of Ifira Island.
Speeches will be presented by the Port Vila Town Lord Mayor, The New Zealand High Commissioner, The DPM, and followed by the Prime Minister.
The new TASANAK Park will give Port Vila a major facelift.
“The waterfront is ours and we should take care of it!” So say a number of locals who have been enjoying the completed elements of the beautified seafront.
However, since the start of the upgrade there have have been instances of littering, writing on seats, graffiti, damage of plants and parts of the children’s pleipleis. It is everyone’s responsibility to keep the parks clean and unspoilt for one and all to come and enjoy.
Allow our visitors to see the beautiful city we have with its beautiful parks.
