Malampa Provincial Government has a new Secretary General and he is Neil Netaf Stevens from Malekula who has a Masters in International Relations and a lot of experience in managing public sector reform programs, community capacity building, organisation management, youth and education.
Netaf was appointed this week after the position has been vacant for some time when former SG Palen Ata left in 2017, and the position has been acted on by Principle Education Officer for Malampa Province, Renjo Samuel.
He started his career as a youth volunteer from Presbyterian church before he went to graduate from University of New South Wales in 1999 and came to manage the public sector reform programs funded by AusAID in Vanuatu, before joining the WWF team in Fiji in 2002.
In 2003 he left WWF and went to manage the Pacific Islands Association of NGO’s in Suva, and then again to Pacific Concerns Resource Centre as assistant director until 2006 he was appointed as a Regional Director for University of the South Pacific.
He moved back to Vanuatu and in 2013 and took the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Vanuatu Agriculture College.
