The team is in Vanuatu this week working with the Fisheries Department marking and tracking of Fish Aggregating Devices using innovative technology for Pelagic Data Systems.

The GGGI partners with Pelagic Data Systems, a professional vessel tracking company and they do data analytics to the 95% of the global fishing fleets for which expensive, satellite-based Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) are not appropriate or affordable.

Another partner for the initiative is Satlink which was found in 1992 with special interests in maritime industry and working with satellite companies like Inmarsat, Thuraya and Iridium, it gives them the ability to provide global coverage for voice and data services to people, regardless of their location whether at sea, on land or in aircraft.
