Italian Seria B goalkeeper, Mauro Boerchio arrived in Vanuatu last Friday to play for Amicale Football Club.
The 1.95 meter goalkeeper who weight about 90 kg arrived at 3.30pm after about 4 hour flight from Australia last Friday 13 February.
Mauro went straight to an hour training season at Amicale training ground with Coach Marco Banchini and just after 20 hours in Vanuatu, he played his first match with Amicale FC against a strong Tafea FC side on Saturday for the Port Vila shield tournament.
Mauro displayed a very strong mental side and exposd to over 4000 plus fans his skills with a message that he is here to help Amicale achieve success.
The 25 years old saved three dangerous shots from Tafea strikers, Robert Tasso, Sika Mahuni and Bong Kalo on Saturday and help Amicale win Tafea 2-0.
This is what the Serie B player has to say about his background and career.
“I have started very young in the youth of Piacenza Calcio (Serie A), then moved to Bari (Serie B) achieving several calls in the Italian National team U20 and U21 and winning the Serie B with Bari.Later I played in teams like: Lecco (C1), ProSesto (C2), Verbano (Serie D) and in the last year with Savona (League Pro1).” Said Mauro Boershio.
In his football career he had coaches like Antonio Conte, current coach of the Italian National team, Giampiero Ventura, coach of Torino and Ninni Corda, coach of Savona.
“They taught me a lot and thanks to them I have gained a lot of experience. “
